- Burned out by the age of 30 Mandy left her job in corporate America to go out on a limb and work in a management position at a local yoga studio. In order to gain a better understanding of the yoga practice she enrolled in the Wilmington Yoga Centers yoga and lifestyle teacher training studying under Kristin Cooper-Gulak. With no intentions of teaching she soon discovered how much she enjoyed sharing yoga and the path of self care with others. More importantly she loved holding a safe space for others to explore their greatest teachers, oneself. Throughout her journey as a yoga teacher she has worked with yogis of all ages. She has trained in trauma based yoga with David Emerson, Ayurveda with Hilary Gilvaltis of Kirpalu and Thai Massage with Deon DeWitt. Words like quirky, playful, mystical and inviting are used to describe Mandy and her classes. Her classes combine a blend of movement, mindfulness, reflection and alignment often with the theme of self love woven throughout. She co-leads international and national women’s yoga and wellness retreats and is the owner of Salty Dog Yoga & Surf. When she isn’t teaching yoga you will most likely find her wearing overalls hanging in nature, doing an art project or hanging with her family.
