Soft sunshine, warm breezes, and the afterglow of a rejuvenating yoga class are all things I crave on a regular basis. I have been a yoga practitioner since 2004 with a consistent practice since 2011. I keep fit by attending functional fitness classes 2-4 times a week, as well as keep active by walking my dog, hiking, skiing, etc. I have completed YogaFit 200-Hour Teacher Training (Yoga-Alliance Approved). I love to teach vinyasa flow and yoga core/strength-focused classes. I have also completed training in Meditation & Mindfulness, YogaFit Kids, YogaProps, YogaFit Seniors/Chair Yoga, and YogaFit Warriors. I also practice & can lead sessions in Yoga Nidra for Relaxation & Stress Reduction.
Over the years I have tried many styles of yoga however I keep coming back to the basics with my vinyasa-style yoga practice. I do my best to assist participants to build confidence, practice safely, and most importantly have fun. My classes generally follow the YogaFit format however I always improvise a little depending on the participants. I also love offering Yoga Nidra and Guided Meditation sessions.
My other formal education includes Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Bachelor of Post-Secondary Education, Master of Education, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership degree. I currently work in a leadership position at a community college and am interested in #teachingvacations as a way to share my love of yoga and a balanced lifestyle in combination with travel and relaxation.
