Khalil Karbani

I have lived in both London, England, and Calgary, Canada, and have had my own businesses and volunteer initiatives in both cities. In London, I was part of a very successful business that I started from the ground up. We sold car parts and became the UK’s largest independent supplier for French car parts (Peugeot, Citroen, and Renault). Additionally, we were the first supplier in the UK to have a car parts website which introduced “online mail order services”.

In 2002, I moved to Canada with my wife and kids and started my own business in developing residential homes. I also began volunteering with a Community Association and served as President of this organization. Additionally, I was on the Board of the North East Community Society and served as Vice President from 2005-2013. I was particularly passionate about the work of this Board as it was formed to build the $125M Genesis Center of Community wellness – a hub in our community which sees over 15,000 people a day.

In 2013, I was a recipient of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Award for outstanding volunteer work.  It was presented to me by the Prime Minister of Canada and the Queens Lieutenant General, representing the Queen of England.

My passions in life are travelling around the world, photography (www.bowtiephotography.ca) and fitness. Over and above that, I love golf and currently play an 11 handicap. 

I set mini goals every year while working towards my main goals in life which are to be financially fit, physically fit and to help those in need.
