Karen Everage

Karen Everage, creator of Studio Fitness opened her fitness studio in 2010, after years of struggling with weight issues and unhealthy eating habits most of her adult life.

In 2006, after becoming increasingly frustrated with crowed smelly gyms, boring repetitious workouts, and fad dieting, Karen sought alternative methods of fitness. She searched for fun activities that did not feel like work, that’s when she discovered pole fitness. Her enthusiasm for the workout took off like a rocket. Having a background in ballet and modern dance, Karen thrived and discovered that dance fitness was her passion. 

In 2008, Karen was hired and trained as a certified Group Fitness instructor for Lifestyles for Women, where she became certified in Hip Hop Hustle, Turbo Kick and eventually Zumba fitness. After Lifestyles closed many of their facilities, Karen decided to open her own, Studio Fitness.

Studio Fitness was based on the belief that women deserve a comfortable, secure and supportive fitness environment where they can feel safe, and have fun.  When you walked into Studio Fitness, you are immediately overcome with aromatherapy, dance club lighting, and superb music that will put you in a positive mood. Karen developed the concept of transforming a workout into a girl’s night out. No sweaty gym smells, bright blaring lights, or distractions. This concept alone sets Studio Fitness apart from the others. 

Karen closed her gym in 2017, to move to Atlanta, GA.  She was hired at LA Fitness on the spot, where she now teaches an exciting and exhilarating montage of fitness programs that include Zumba, BodyWorks, Sculpting & Weightlifting, Aqua aerobics, and all formats of Silver Sneakers senior fitness in Decatur, GA. Karen in also certified in Zumba Toning, Pilates, and Pole Dance Fitness which are essential to building and developing core strength, flexibility, and body contouring, and increased muscle tone for a more improved cardiovascular system.
