My name is Allie, and I was born and raised in Richmond, VA. Up until college, the furthest I had traveled was North Carolina to visit my aunt and uncle. My family was extremely blessed to have a river house 2 hours away that we all shared every weekend. So, as a child, I rarely ever traveled. I always promised myself that, as an adult, I would see more of the world (super cliche, I know). My first year out of college, my friends and I planned MY first ever trip on a plane to Miami, FL. I enjoyed the experience so much that I challenged myself to find a way to travel to somewhere new once a year. At the same time, I was pursuing a career change by studying personal training. I've grown up in the gym (literally). I never considered anything in the health and wellness world to be a career choice until I experience extreme depression caused by my desk job. Unfortunately, my first year in the real world was a culture shock to me. I'm lucky to be a creative, energetic individual that likes to stay busy. I found my first job lacked stimulating projects. I had an extremely encouraging and caring boss as my leader, and had it not been for him; I would have left the company much earlier. The job was simply not for me. My body is made to move. My brain is made to create. I love being challenged and I found that a career in the health and wellness world was a great way to keep my body moving, and my brain constantly challenged. Every day I am testing new exercise programs, new activities, and working with amazingly brilliant co-workers that help give our members all the resources they need to be physically and mentally healthy. This constant flow of knowledge, creativity is amazing and my goal is to share and educate as many people as I can.
