Certified by the American Council on Exercise, Jill Nelson specializes in total body and core conditioning, heart rate training, and sports specific functional training. She is certified as a Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and is also an ACE-Certified Group Exercise Instructor. She has completed kickboxing training through the International Sports Conditioning Association, holds a certification in Weight Management, and is certified by the American Heart Association in CPR. She is a certified indoor cycling instructor through Bally Total Fitness Reaction Cycling and Johnny G's Spinning program. Beyond the gym setting, Jill specializes in complete conditioning that combines multiple fitness disciplines and techniques that elevate her clients' fitness levels to new heights. Her focus is sports specific conditioning for events that have included cycling, running, triathlon, and boxing. Jill also was the founding trainer for the Windy City Rollers Roller Derby League (www.windycityrollers.com). She turned a group of 80 average women into a league of athletes. When not training her clients, Jill skated as "Ivana Krushya," #43 with the Windy City Rollers and led the group's fitness initiatives. Called "the League's secret weapon," by The Chicago Reader, Jill conducted punishing bootcamps that whipped the derby dolls into top bouting condition. Previously unfit and less than healthy, Jill discovered fitness as she became approached her 40’s and enthusiastically attests to anyone who will listen that fitness changed her life. In the years since then, she has finished the Los Angeles Marathon, five triathlons, the Heartland AIDS Ride, the Muddy Buddy, and countless 5Ks, 8Ks, and 10Ks. Today, she trains in Krav Maga (the hand to hand combat used by the Israeli Army), and is planning to complete an inline skate marathon. Jill has a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, and previously has worked in corporate investor relations and nonprofit fundraising.
