My fitness journey began as a child when I began gymnastics and running at the age of eight. I participated in many 5k and 10k road races over the years and competed in gymnastics for the next twelve years, two of those as a member of the University of Texas at Austin Women's Gymnastics Team. After reconstructive ankle surgery I moved back to South Carolina and was a member of the University of South Carolina at Coastal's varisty co-ed competitive cheerleading squad. Upon graduating from college I continued to run and stay involved in fitness. A few years later I discovered The FIRM fitness videos and began attending their live classes in Charleston, SC. After a couple of months I was asked to become an instructor. Over the next few years I became certified in numerous group fitness disciplines, as well as becoming a certifed mat and machine Pilates instructor. Oh, and I had my beautiful daughter and ran in a half marathon! I continue to teach Pilates, group fitness, and train clients out of their homes in addition to squeezing in my runs and being a wife and mommy. My goal is to educate people in healthy living through exercise and smart food choices. I also want to be the best example of a strong, healthy woman that I can be for my five year old daughter.
