I am a certified group fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise and a certified personal trainer and certified corrective exercise specialist through the National academy of sports medicine.  In addition I hold certificates in Yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, mat science, yo-chi and Zumba along with specialties in arthritis and senior fitness.  As the mom of 2 baseball athletes, I have spent years working to help them achieve their physical 

goals on and off the field.  Over the years, I have trained athletes and non athletes alike.  Whether the goals were to rehab after an injury, increase muscle mass, increase cardiovascular health or lose weight, I have worked with them all to create attainable goals and a plan that works within their busy lives.

 

I believe that core strength is the foundation for good movement.  For the athlete and non athlete alike,  a strong core helps with the rotational movements of swinging, throwing, pivoting, bending and reaching.  Through strength training along with pilates and yoga based movements we can strengthen the muscles of the core and have a positive influence on functional movements as well as those explosive ones used by athletes.

 

 

Strength training along with yoga and pilates work are the corner stone for good health whether you are an athlete or weekend warrior.   we demand a lot from our bodies.  If we strengthen the right way, synergistically and holistically, we help protect ourselves from over use injuries that are common to us all.
