My name is Cassandra, but I usually go by Cassie. I developed a passion for health and fitness when I was 17 and decided that I wanted to share that passion with others as a career. The more time I spent in the gym and reading research articles about how exercise effects the body, the more motivated I was to go to college and pursue a degree. I'm currently enrolled in the last semester of my senior year and will be receiving my B.S. in Exercise Science this May.
I love the social aspect of my job of getting to know such a wide variety of people on a personal level.Working with personal training clients individually is incredibly rewarding. All clients are unique and have their own specific goals. When I can lead clients to achieve those goals it's a constant reminder of why I got into this career path initially. I'm passionate about science and research and constantly keep up to date on the latest training methods to make sure I can guide my clients down the most efficient path for their goals. I believe very strongly in the power of education. Even if I just have 60 minutes with a client, I do my best to help them leave the session feeling confident and encouraged to lead a healthier lifestyle.
I was encouraged to start group fitness by a few of my contractors. It wasn't my initial path but I'm glad I was encouraged to step outside my comfort zone. The loud music and high energy environment of a group fitness class is a fun addition to my career as a personal trainer. I've taught group classes as small as 3 and as large as 50; both are equally rewarding. It's inspiring seeing so many individuals at different ages and fitness levels all working hard together and leading their own version of a healthy lifestyle.
Yoga has always been a passion of mine and I've been practicing for 5 years now. In my busy life with work and school yoga helps me quiet my mind and reminds me to be more present. I was introduced to teaching yoga as a last minute sub when one instructor was sick. Again, super far outside my comfort zone but I'm grateful for the experience as I fell in love with it. Yoga has always made me feel refreshed and relaxed after every session; I'm grateful to now be in the position to help others feel the same.
