Dr. Emilie Sagripanti, MD, MSc, 200-RYT, is a bilingual family physician practicing in Toronto, Canada. She grew up competing in gymnastics, which led her to trying her first yoga class after sustaining a hip injury. Instantly she fell in love with the discipline and would practice all types of yoga, whether it was hot yoga, ashtanga, vinyasa, hatha or yin yoga. After completing medical school, Emilie went on to pursue a 200 hour yoga teaching training in Bali, Indonesia. She was taught by instructors from world class ashrams in India and learned in-depth knowledge of asana practice, teaching methodology, yoga anatomy, pranayama and meditation. She even discovered a passion for yoga nidra, which she incorporates into her classes today. Emilie has been primarily teaching yoga to health care workers in a program called "Yoga for You", and enjoys teaching a wide range of class sizes, ages and abilities.
Emilie is a strong advocate for lifestyle and preventative medicine, also having completed a Masters in Nutrition from the University of Roehampton, UK. She counsels patients on the importance of movement and nutrition in medicine and hopes to open her own preventative health clinic, where she can incorporate yoga into the healing of her patients.
Emilie enjoys travelling and meeting new people, and is looking forward to new experiences by teaching yoga internationally with Fitness Pro Travel.
Emilie's languages of instruction include: English and French
