Karla was first introduced to yoga while in college in 2013. Initially drawn to the physical benefits of yoga, she began trying out a variety of classes. She soon realized that no two classes were the same, which motivated her to learn more about the practice. In 2014, she signed up for a 75-hour Introduction to Yoga course.
The information presented in this course deepened Karla’s understanding of yoga immensely. She realized practicing yoga was a way of life, not just a form of fitness. From there, she began a regular yoga practice and enrolled in a 200-hour yoga teacher training program in 2017 through Sioux Falls Yoga.
Upon completion of the program, Karla began teaching yoga in her community at a local gym, Great-Life. In addition, she also started pop-up yoga classes at various businesses in the Sioux Falls area.
Her classes are rooted in Vinyasa with an emphasis on the elements found in nature along with the chakras located in the body. In addition to her yoga knowledge, she also employs her Behavioral Sciences degree into her classes- creating a well-rounded mind and body experience for all participants. Yoga is Karla’s passion and Vinyasa flow yoga has become a way for her to connect with her students. She creates a space for students to express creativity and cultivate understanding through unique flows, intentional breathwork, and mindful stillness. Each class is different and is open to both new and experienced yogis of all levels.
Karla’s ultimate goal is for her students to apply the physical, mental, and emotional information they learn on their mats into the rest of their lives. She fully believes this is where the true potential of human growth and transformation rests.
