- Nichole Day
My name is Nikki Day and I am a full time Partner Development Manager in the technology industry where I have worked in now for 20 years since graduating from Fairfield University with a degree in Communications and Marketing. I practice, teach and instruct Buti Yoga which is a style of yoga that combines jump training (plyometrics), tribal dancing and dynamic yoga asanas into an intense workout. In Marathi, the language spoken in parts of western India, buti means "a secret remedy or cure" which is exactly what myself and most of its followers experiences while practicing.
I am a divorced single mother of an 11 year old boy who is my life outside of work and is the reason for what drives me daily. He takes just as much care of me as I do him.
Outside of work and my son, I am extremely active. In addition to yoga practice, I work out regularly, play basketball on occasion and golf often during the summer months. For pleasure, I enjoy spending time with boyfriend and many of my amazing girlfriends. Speaking of girlfriends, it was one of mine who was the reason I found my love for buti. She was struggling to make herself active on her own and found out about buti yoga and asked me if I would go to a class with her because she knew i liked to work out and she needed a partner to help kick off a healthy lifestyle. I feel in love the first class. Got out so much energy and literally cried at the end of class in emotional happiness during our final savasana. The music throughout the practice is fun, upbeat and tribal and ends with calming and relaxing music during your final stretch down and savasana.
Buti yoga is like no other yoga you have experienced. If you like to dance, like yoga, like pilates, like to work up a sweat and meditate, this practice is for you!
