Retired United States Air Force Medic, with a love and passion for travel and fitness.
My military career was all about taking care of military members and their families in the hospital and clinic setting, allowing me to witness, in some cases, the effects of unhealthy and of sedentary lifestyles. Seeing the ill-effects of unhealthy living, and not being the healthiest version of myself at that time, I took steps to change my own life first and wanted eventually to be able to help others change their lives as well. I knew that for myself, it was not easy, but it was exciting setting goals for myself and watching my body change, and feel better every day. I fell in love with fitness, probably got on a few people's nerves, but continued to learn and grow, and wanted to do more. As it happened, the base at which I was stationed would host AFAA trainers to come in and provide seminars and conduct the practical personal trainer exams. I signed up with a quickness and became a certified personal trainer in August 2006. Becoming a trainer allowed me to do more for my unit and for individuals trying to improve their own health and fitness. I felt like I was setting a great example as more and more people came to me for help with their fitness programs. I was hooked and hooked more people with my love and enthusiasm.
Since retiring, the love and passion for fitness have remained, but relocating 5 times in 3 years, I haven't planted roots in any location, as far as training and teaching as yet. I do believe I will remain in my current location for a while, so I will get familiar with the lay of the land here and get back to business.
