Kimberly Kadar

I started ice skating in 1973. In 1977 my parents and I moved to Delaware to persue my competitive ice skating career by taking lessons from an Olympic figure skating coach. I competed in ice skating until 1983. During my decade of practice and competitions, I spent almost every day in the "training room" working on vertical jumps, upper body strength, leg strength, flexibility, etc. All these played a major part in the sport.

After retiring from competition, I continued to train myself in the "gym" using free weights, circuit equipment, and cardio equipment. I have always found joy in exercise.

In 2006 I decided to get my personal trainer certification. I figured, "why not"? I've spent almost my entire life being an athlete and training. In figure skating I had to learn proper form with EVERY move; not only to execute a perfect jump or spin; but, to avoid injury. This experience helped me as a personal trainer.

I have been employed as a personal trainer since 2006; however, I have external clients as well that I train in their homes. This is where the fun and imagination comes in as each person has different equipment. I enjoy tailoring workout programs utilizing different pieces of equipment. I have even trained a teenager using no equipment, merely what Mother Nature supplied in the form of a state park!

In 2018 I decided to go back to school and become an EMT. I became a nationally certified EMT in February 2019. I am still training part time and working full time as an EMT.
