Norma Rouillard

Norma was born and raised in Lebanon, along the Mediterranean Sea, where she was involved in school gymnastics. She started bodybuilding and teaching aerobic classes in small gyms when she was in college.

She graduated from the Lebanese Physical Therapy School in 1993 and got certified as a Fitness instructor by the French “International Federation of Sports Aerobics and Fitness”. She immediately started working as a Physical Therapist and aerobic instructor in fancy gyms in Down Town Beirut. Norma spent one year specializing in Sports Physical Therapy in René Descartes, Paris University, and was certified in May 2001. After 9 years of experience in both fields, she got married in 2002 to Mike Rouillard, an American personal trainer who she met at the gym when she was visiting San Diego, and she moved to California where she didn’t waste any time. She got certified as a Group Exercise Instructor by AFAA, started teaching classes in several gyms until she received her Californian PT license in 2004 and first began working as a Physical Therapist.

She stopped teaching fitness classes in 2015. However, she continued her journey in fitness and has been enjoying all sporting activities including skiing, hiking, weight lifting, running, cycling, practicing classic and aerial yoga, and playing golf.

She competed in Master Bikini, Sport Model and Figure categories and was coached by Laurie Delaney who she met in 2017, along with her husband Mike Rouillard to win first place in Figure and second in Bikini and Sport Model. The competition was organized by AAU and conducted in Plaza Hotel, Las Vegas, USA. After that, Laurie encouraged her to get certified as a Yoga instructor when she noticed her passion to yoga.

Her skills in the Health and Fitness domains have allowed her to thrive as a physical therapist and an athlete.
