Lanelle Henderson

Lanelle Henderson is a tech-savvy marketing expert, popular speaker, trainer and passionate entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience helping small businesses, nonprofits and associations apply the power of relationship marketing to grow their organization. She has educated more than 18,000 small businesses in on sharp business practices and smart online marketing programs, including email marketing, event marketing and social media marketing.

She served as a monthly contributor to the Atlanta Tribune Magazine, eMerge and various local media and has presented at numerous conferences including Tory Johnson's Spark & Hustle, Small Business World Summit, Women’s Leadership Exchange, Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Georgia Chapter of National Speakers Association, and the City of Savannah Mayor’s Conference to name a few.


Lanelle is also the founder of a successful marketing firm in Atlanta since 2003, now rebranded as Oh Nellie PromosTM. From 2006 to 2009, Lanelle initiated the Women on the Move Interactive Power Series, a business networking group for diverse women to educate on relative business practices.


Prior to starting her own business, Lanelle held management positions with Hilton and Marriott hotels in sales and marketing. She served as the Business Manager for the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality and Marketing Director for the Executive MBA Program at Georgia State University while obtaining her degree. She also has background in graphics design and worked several years with the Centers for Disease Control and freelanced for other organizations, like The Cola-Cola Company.
Lanelle is a graduate of the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality holding a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Georgia State University’s and is currently pursuing her J.D. She is also a graduate of Leadership Henry and the FastTrac GrowthVenture program offered by the State of Georgia.


Lanelle is an active member of several organizations, Metro Atlanta and Savannah Area Chambers of Commerce, the Atlanta Visitors and Convention Bureau, Promotional Products Association International, Georgia Association of Promotional Products Professionals, past co-chair of the Hospitality Alumni Leadership Council, past president of the Cecil B. Day Hospitality Alumni Club, and served as a board member of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Leadership Henry Board of Directors.


She has been featured in the fourteenth edition of Who’s Who of Black Atlanta, Lodging Magazine and Prentice Hall’s Introduction to the Hospitality Industry textbooks (2004 and 2007), Georgia Trend’s Best Places to Work (November 2006), Henry Medical Center’s Health for Life (September 2006), The Atlanta Journal and Constitution and others, and has been seen on SCB-TV’s “The Perspective” and WXIA-11 Alive News.


Lanelle has won awards for Outstanding Volunteer Award from United Way and the first recipient to receive the Joyce Rodgers Heart of Henry Award.
Her primary interests are hospitality, community, and education with a focus on empowering women. Lanelle is a native New Yorker who has resided in Georgia for 31 years. She has one son, Darryl, and in her spare time enjoys exercising, cooking, traveling and reading.
