Both of my parents were obese so I had a personal passion for understanding more about how these problems arise and are impacted by genetics, exercise and nutrition. From a career standpoint, it took me about 10 years working in a corporate environment to decide that I could make a professional career out of pursuing my passion opportunity to change people’s lives through health and fitness. I spent a significant portion of my corporate career helping organizations manage change. This change process is the same for an individual as it is for a large organization. Perhaps most importantly, it can’t be done without the proper attitude, behaviors mindset and support! I would like to offer my clients a systematic approach to their fitness goals and enable them to continually evolve this process for themselves. For me, the corporate lifestyle contributed to common symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, digestive disorders, wrist, neck and shoulder problems from long hours hunched over a keyboard, stiffness from sitting through long meetings and being at the desk for long periods of time, problems with posture from years of wearing high heels. As an avid sports and fitness enthusiast, as well as having suffered several major car accidents in the last few years, I have had ample opportunities to re-habilitate my own injuries and imbalances. I’ve utilized many different techniques to try to help myself – through nutrition, strength training, massage, pilates, yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic, and physical therapy. The tools, techniques and information available to us today are endless and confusing. I enjoy analyzing, comparing and contrasting these various modalities and like to think of my time spent as a large toolbox from which to draw upon. I would like save my clients time and confusion by helping them to sift through the sea of information and enabling them to confidently implement proven tools and techniques to achieve their fitness goals based on their unique lifestyle.
