Cheryl McHugh

Cheryl McHugh first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2002. Ever since, the practice has been
her humble refuge, teacher and passion. Cheryl could quickly see that the mat was a
place to FEEL. Through movement and breath she began to let go, strengthen and soften
in all areas of her life. A decade later, Cheryl took her first 200 hour yoga teacher
training in Cincinnati, OH. She hasn’t stopped studying and training since. Her most
recent certification is The Yoga of 12 Step Recovery Training and The Three Wisdom
Traditions Training. In October 2019 she completed her 500 hour teacher training
through World Peace Yoga in Cincinnati, OH. One of her biggest achievements and most
passionate projects yet has been establishing a branch of the non profit organization
Project Yoga in this community. Together she and her husband Patrick have brought
yoga to an underserved population for free. This movement has already had profound impact on
people and populations in our area, the testimonials have been inspiring and remarkable.
Cheryl's teaching specialty is weaving together the work we are doing with the body, to
the work we can do within our hearts and mind. Her compassionate and caring teaching
approach invites you to look within, to allow yourself to see new and bigger possibilities.
Cheryl’s style in class, asks students to look past their tight hamstrings and hips, and
really begin to see how bringing balance back to the body, mind and spirit will renew you
in all ways. Her vigorous flow classes will transform not only the way you move on the
mat, but the way you move through your life. Cheryl’s intention is to lift and inspire her
students to believe that power lies within and anything is possible!
