Animal Lover, Adventurer & Survivor:
Always having a love hate relationship with the world of physical therapy, becoming a personal trainer has allowed me to help people in a fun and creative way without conventional limitations. My main focus has been on corrective exercise and helping others establish a baseline of proper movement patterns. When we are moving well, we can move without pain!
In my early thirties, I developed chronic lower back pain and knee pain from a lifetime of being very active, performing a lot of physical labor improperly and also having to sit for extended periods of time. At the same time, I was seeing many others my age and older experiencing similar problems in their bodies. I knew there had to be ways to heal that didn’t involve surgeries or pain medication to cover up the real issues. This has lead me on an interesting and amazing journey into learning all I can about the body and how it is designed to move.
Currently, I spend my time working closely with extremely talented physical therapists to design and administer fitness programs, while being the program director of small group training programs for a well established fitness club in the Santa Cruz, CA area. This includes, creating and designing programs, instructing and leading an amazing team of trainers, creating a community around wellness and teaching many of the classes in person and online.
I feel very fortunate to love doing what I do everyday. Creating a safe, fun and inspiring atmosphere for others to grow and transform both mentally and physically. Creating custom workouts and programs designed to achieve results that are felt today and last for a lifetime. I truly believe that building a strong foundation is key to being able to stay fit, healthy and pain free.
