I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (2005)and a Registered Yoga Teacher (2011) specializing in holistic, integrative modalities combined with traditional talk therapy. I am trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Guided Imagery, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), 240 hours of Yoga and Meditation and also have a knowledge base of essential oils and their therapeutic benefits. I use yoga as an intentional modality in mental health therapy as well as in group class settings with trained experience in Hatha, Vinyasa, Gentle and Yin practices.Yoga students range from beginner to advanced, my abilities can accommodate a mixed level class.
My therapy clients are encouraged to learn and participate in their healing process, practicing techniques regularly to ameliorate the healing process. Reduction of stress symptoms and modulation of stress responses, emotional regulation, reduction of disturbing trauma symptoms, improved mood, and improved physical well-being are goals expected as a result of a client’s treatment. Clients are treated in a safe and collaborative environment; treatment planning is individualized and tailored for each client and is led in a compassionate and intuitive way. This will often include a dedicated yoga practice specifically intended to address each client's issues.
