Heather Winn

I am a long time fitness enthusiast. I have practiced yoga off an on for 18 years. 3 years ago I realized I needed to include more cardio in my routine and decided to try a spin class. I fell in love instantly and began spinning everyday. 6 months later on a whim I decided to audition to be an instructor at my studio. I thought it would be fun and help me with my form and I wouldn't have to teach if I didnt want to. I went through the hardest most comprehensive 2 month training. I was in completely over my head and overwhelmed but I came out the other side way stronger with a group of fellow instructors that will always have a special place in my heart. I taught at a Rush location in San Francisco from Sept 2019 indoors then outdoors during COVID until we finally had to close our location in March 2021. It was heartbreaking, but I have found a new home at Crunch Fitness in Daly City, here I can take the structure I learned at Rush and make it my own to fit my riders. It has also given me the opportunity to train to teach other fitness formats and try out new things. I love being able to do spin one day then yoga, and the next day barre, it allows me to use different muscles in different ways. I don't really believe in exercise or workouts, I believe in movement. And moving for the joy of it is far more beneficial and sustainable then pushing to hard an abusing your body. The past few years may not have been the best for fitness professionals but the ups and downs, and numerous surprises have given me the confidence in my teaching and ability to adapt in the moment that otherwise would have taken twice as long to achieve. I can teach indoors, outdoors, no mic, bad speaker, in the rain, with a mask, in the humidity, airplanes, dogs barking, spectator all the things and I am a much better teacher for it!
