When Sydney first started practicing yoga in high school, she merely saw it as an opportunity to exercise, signing up for only intense, fast-paced vinyasa classes. It was not until after she struggled through years of disordered eating, compulsive exercise, and negative body image that she began to realize the incredible healing powers of yoga that extend beyond the physical practice. She now favors restorative, slow, and meditation-based yoga practices to help herself and her students experience life outside the “go-go-go” pace of modernity.
She hopes that her classes and style of teaching provide a safe space for her students to re-establish their relationship with their minds, bodies, and souls through meditation, breath work, and asanas. Her goal as a yoga teacher is to extend radical acceptance and compassion to all her students no matter where, or what, or who they are.
