Bambi Walters, founder of Better You Fitness & Training, LLC, is a living testament to resilience, compassion, and the transformative power of movement. With a beautiful mind focused on mindfulness, a powerful body rebuilt through sheer determination, a kind heart rooted in service, and a blessed spirit that radiates through everything she does, Bambi has devoted her life to helping others become the best version of themselves—body, mind, and soul.

As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, Bambi brings deep expertise to her practice, guiding individuals with a holistic approach that blends science-based training with soul-centered wellness. Her credentials also include certifications as a CoreFirst Instructor, IFTA Elite Fitness Instructor, and specialist in Senior Fitness through the Functional Aging Institute. Her teaching portfolio spans Yoga, Pilates, Step Aerobics, Aquatic Fitness, Cycling/Indoor Spinning, and various Zumba formats, including Zumba Gold, Aqua Zumba, and Strong by Zumba.

Yet it is her yoga instruction that truly sets her apart. Bambi is devoted to Gentle Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Fitness Yoga, and Chair Yoga, delivering deeply healing, inclusive classes for all ability levels. Her sessions often begin with empowering daily meditation mantras, reinforcing her belief that fitness is as much about the spirit as it is about strength. Her classes are more than workouts—they are journeys of self-acceptance, transformation, and peace.

Bambi’s approach to fitness is informed by her own remarkable recovery journey. In 2012, she shattered her right tibia and spent six months non-weight bearing, followed by another six months relearning how to walk. She knows firsthand that true healing requires patience, motivation, and heart. That experience reshaped her mission and deepened her empathy—qualities her students feel the moment they enter her classes.

She is not only a trainer and teacher, but a beacon of community service. A Master Laughter Yoga Instructor, Bambi volunteers regularly at schools, the College of William & Mary, and local nursing homes, sharing joy and therapeutic movement. She also leads weekly yoga and chair aerobics in long-term care facilities, bringing vitality and connection to some of the most vulnerable in her community.

Bambi’s work transcends boundaries. She has trained entertainers, world-renowned chefs, executives, political leaders, and everyday individuals, recognizing that every person is unique. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: individuality and tenderness are key to success. Below is a list of classes and personal training formats:

Personal Training
Yoga - Fitness, Flow, Gentle, Restorative, Aqua and Chair

1) Restorative (or candlelight/moonlight yoga). Very popular for our Colonial Williamsburg visitors. 

2) Vinyasa with options and modifications for advanced poses (3 to 5 breaths)

3) Yoga with light weights (we do not have enough instructors who feel comfortable, we only use 1-3 pound weights). I love it. 

4) Corefirst - I'm the only instructor in our area who teaches, but it's not as popular as I'd like. I think it might have to do with licensing. 

5) Power and fitness yoga for athletes with adequate stretching. I volunteer with several local teams and train their trainers. It's a lot of fun but demanding. I sub when their trainers are out of town or studying for exams, etc.
