My love for movement started when I was a young child in ballet. I stared in many of our city's larger productions in the late '80s. At 14 I was forced to switch to a different sport and I chose soccer. I loved the fitness part of the spot but I wasn't fond of the competition element. I had my first child when I was 21 and I worked so hard to loose the 70 pounds that I put on during my pregnancy. I paid many many trainers at my local gyms to help me find what works for my body. I had two more babies and had just as much weight to loose after each one. In 2004 I found my first Pilates class and fell in love. I took as many classes as I could afford. When we moved to Ukiah years later, there was no Pilates or Barre studio. I found the closest Balanced Body teacher training program and worked hard to pass my test outs and be trained by my mentors. In 2014 I opened the first Pilates Studio in Ukiah, CA. It has continued to be very successfu. I was teaching 5-6 classes a day, I have 6 rpilates reformesr and a large room for Barre and most classes were sold out consistently. Once COVID hit, I switched to renting out my reformers and teaching online. I had to close my doors in Nov 2020, Cali had been closed for private studios in my county since March and I couldn't afford the rent anymore.
