Gerry Ibay lives in Oklahoma with his wife and two sons. He’s originally from New Orleans, and previously lived in Richmond, VA, and New York City. After a serious leg injury, he found yoga very helpful in his rehabilitative and healing process—physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Gerry completed his 200-hour vinyasa teacher training with Yoga Medicine, which aligns with his career in healthcare administration. He’s Vice Chair and Assistant Professor, and Program Director for the Health Administration program at the Hudson College of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He loves sharing yoga with the university community.

Gerry loves to teach dynamic, heart-pumping classes that balance effort and ease. His primary interest in yoga lies in the mental states. His goal is to help organizations and communities adopt the teachings of yoga and other contemplative practices to create healthy, harmonious relationships. He is pursuing a PhD in Organizational and Community Leadership to pursue this passion.

Gerry has been active his entire life. He was a Division I-A track athlete (sprinting and jumping) in college and a personal trainer and cycling instructor in graduate school.
