Joyce San Pedro

I never considered myself athletic and never had the interest or drive for competitive sports. So when I tried yoga, it was the first time that I felt connected to my body and was excited to find a physical activity that I felt like I could “do”.

Slowly, that interest grew beyond the physical practice, and I found that mindfulness to movement and breath started to carry over to other aspects of my life. I became less reactive and impulsive, my sleep improved, and I started to have a more thoughtful approach to life. It’s all still very much a work in progress, but this is why I practice.

I’ve been practicing for almost 15 years, starting amidst the yoga boom in Los Angeles, where I was fortunate enough to study with amazing teachers in small rooms that would soon be bursting at the seams.

I’m a firm believer that change is not only good, but necessary. My practice has changed a lot over the years. I went from a Vinyasa practice to Ashtanga, but I also love a yummy Yin and Restorative class. As my practice has changed, so has my perspective, and that change is reflected in how I teach. I teach for all levels, all ages and a variety of classes: Beginner, Ashtanga Primary, Yin & Restorative, Chair Yoga, Yoga Sculpt, and Yoga for Seniors.
