Rachel began her journey in practicing yoga in 2016 as a way to combat the stress that comes from being a K-12 educator. Her own healing experience and release has inspired her to want to share the gift of yoga with others.
Rachel is passionate about teaching and learning in all facets of life. She has two Master’s degrees in the field of education; English Language Learning and Special Education. She has been a guest English teacher in several different countries and completed a Fulbright in Colombia in 2018. These experiences have gifted her lifelong friends who live all over the world. Nature and travel are her passions and guiding forces.
She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2021 through the Yoga & Ayurveda Center as a way to bring the therapeutic benefits of yoga to her students and community. Her heart relishes in growing through learning about diversity and the world from both her yoga and academic students. She is also a member of the Yoga Alliance.
Rachel has learned in her own life that yoga goes far beyond poses. Her classes focus on pranayama (breath), reducing stress and becoming present while building strength and flexibility in our own bodies. She believes yoga, as in life, is a journey that is unique for each and every human.
