I am married to Mike and have four grown children and one grandson. I graduated from Coastal Carolina Community College with my associate degree in 1983 and continued my education in business at UNC Wilmington. I worked at Bank of America as a teller, customer service representative and loan officer for nine years. In 1991 my husband and I started a timber business where I currently work as the corporate secretary. I have served on the board of directors for the local Red Cross 2010-2013 and the board of directors for the local pregnancy resource center 2012-2015 as well as serving on the nominating committee at our local church.
I started teaching exercise in 2005 and have had a variety of certifications and continue to seek certifications and continuing education. Health and Fitness is and continues to be a priority for me. I started playing racket ball in the 80's winning 2nd place in a tournament in 1985. I have competed in 5K's, 10K's. At 40 years old competed in a half marathon. At 45 competed in a sprint triathlon. In 2016 at 53 years old competed in ANAF Bikini Contest and won 1st place in my age group. In 2019 competed in my first Spartan race. I have recently taken up yoga and pickleball. My life motto is movement is one of the best medicines and overall wellness is essential to a truly fulfilled life. My hope is to inspire and encourage others to adopt a lifelong commitment to wellness and healthy lifestyle.
