Carolyn Blackmon-Yoga Instructor
Carolyn began exploring yoga about twelve years ago after her Grandfather starting taking chair yoga classes to help him with his limited mobility due to a stroke and some other health concerns. Yoga became such big part of his life and helped him find the mind body connection and movement that his body needed to carry on each day as best as he could. He encouraged Carolyn to try it. She fell in love with it!
Over the last decade Carolyn has practiced all types of yoga and found that it helped her with soul healing, find community, rest for the mind, and nourishment for her body. Carolyn went to Hawaii the Summer of 2017 and completed her 200 Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training Certification through Soma Yoga Institute with the intention to progress her practice and grow. She began teaching the fall of 2017. She completed her 300 Hour Therapeutic yoga Teacher Training in the fall of 2019 through Soma Yoga Institute. During the first half of her Immersion she got yin yoga certified as well. She just recently graduated from a 60 Hour Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training through Soul Work and she looks forward to sharing yoga through a new lens.
She enjoys teaching Mindful Movement and making yoga accessible for all levels while sharing wisdom through the incorporation of themes and infusing encouragement to all her students. In addition, she enjoys leading guided meditations and yoga nidra. Recently she has also started teaching more yin and restorative classes as well.
She currently teaches for Kula Yoga, The Scott Resort and Spa, Surya Yoga, Yoga’s Arc, and Valley Hospital. She has filmed classes for the online platforms One Breath Connected and Legato Yoga.
She always looks forward to teaching in new places such as parks and farmers market. She also enjoys teaching themed yoga classes on holidays or workshops in collaboration with other teachers and healers.
Her passions include traveling, volunteering, hiking, eating vegan/vegetarian food, spending quality time with friends and family, listening to all kinds of music, journaling, connecting people, listening to and being interviewed on podcasts, taking care of people’s pets, nannying, and of course yoga!
