Mia found yoga in 2016 and instantly connected with the practice of movement, meditation, and breathe work. Unlike any previous movement practice or sport, yoga helped her tremendously with issues of body image and anxiety. In 2019 she chose to undergo a 9 month yoga teacher training. This hatha style YTT focused heavily on the philosophy and roots of yoga, connecting movement to breathe, and building accessible sequences. Mia moved to San Antonio not long after finishing YTT to enter the middle school classroom where she currently teacher history. Over the summer of 2020 she became a certified youth yoga teacher and brings yoga to her classroom students as often as possible. Mia now teaches YIN, restorative, meditation, and vinyasa flow across San Antonio, believing in the need for stillness as much as movement.
