Rochelle Cornell

I enjoyed yoga for many years before pursing teaching. Moving my body in a mindful way brought me joy and peace. These side effects were so clear and meaningful in my life, I felt convicted to deepen my practice and share with others. Yoga is not a panacea, of course, but it helped me with anxiety, depression, and daily living... so how could I not offer it as tool to help everyone fine tune this roller coaster we call life?

When you come to one of my classes, you can expect to become centered, set aside the stresses of life, follow the narrative (theme) of the class, and work really hard. I cue breathing in and out of every pose and body alignment with safety and integrity. My knowledge of the human body from both yoga and personal trainer certifications allows me to see past the aesthetics of a pose and make it feel good for every body that arrives in my class. While we are working hard together in class, I often share history of the asanas, meditation techniques, and give individual attention.

I put a lot of behind-the-scenes work into every class, often designing flows around a theme. I continually push myself to learn more, read more, and create more in preparation for every class. And... I like to make people laugh. I will definitely crack a joke... or several... throughout class. It's what a teacher has to do to get everyone through chair pose.
