Tammie Ollendick

My name is Tammie S. Ollendick.  I have worked in Health Care Services, specifically, Occupational Therapy for 37 years, and as a Certified 200 hour Yoga Instructor since 2020.

The missions of Occupational Therapy and Yoga are analogous in form and theory.  As a result of this commonality, I feel fortunate to have two professions that support and challenge each other.  As both a clinician and a yoga guide, I encourage and facilitate patients and yoga participants to stretch their minds, hearts, and bodies, always focused on reaching their personal goals, finding new and exciting depths.

My Yoga Teaching path began at the same institution in which I was educated.  Upon reaching my certification for Yoga, I was hired as a scheduled instructor.  I consistently teach in all areas of yoga including, hatha yoga, Ashtanga, Yin Yoga, and meditation.

Initially, being a Yoga instructor was a “retirement plan”.  However, after experiencing the education process to obtain my certification, and subsequent role as an instructor, I realized that yoga is so complimentary to my career in Occupational Therapy and so important in my life that I had no desire to wait to teach until retirement.  Yoga is truly transformative and my passion.

I currently am part of a Therapy team identified in the top five percent of a nationwide company as leaders in productivity and rehab group leadership.  I am the senior therapist and have enjoyed an integral role in developing and educating co-workers in initiating, sustaining and furthering benefits of group coordination for our patients.  I hold an educational rolein promoting and delivering services associated with memory development techniques and training of clinicians to deliver the techniques known as Spaced Retrieval to patients and their families.
