Stephanie began practicing yoga in the mid 1990’s, when she was looking for a way to manage the stress and demands of her work as a police officer. She quickly fell in love with yoga and she never would have guessed what a transformation it would bring to her life, how it would change her relationships, her career, and how she came to value and utilize time. It helped her recognize that yoga was a tool for self-discovery, compassion, and reflection. The more she practiced, the more it became clear that she wanted to make yoga a central part of her life and to help bring it to others, so in 2014 she enrolled in a 200-hour teacher training.
Stephanie’s academic background is in psychology (BSc) and social work (MSW) and she considers herself to be a perpetual student. She is now retired from law enforcement and has a private practice as a clinical social worker, specializing in hypnotherapy, energy healing (Reiki), and mindfulness-based approaches to wellness and self-discovery.
Stephanie teaches a mix of Hatha and Vinyasa flow classes, focusing on alignment and breathwork. Her classes are designed to balance a physical and mental discipline with openness and ease, bringing these qualities together through mindful movement.
