Kim grew up in a small town with her parents and two older brothers.  Her grandparents lived in town, too, all who helped her become a happy, positive, resilient person. Kim developed a love for running at a young age. She was recruited to run at many colleges and landed at Kent State University. She dabbled in yoga after college and attended her first weeklong yoga training when she was in her mid-20’s, a training in Ashtanga Yoga! For a few years, life got busy with work, she started running marathons and wasn’t doing much yoga.  Kim returned to yoga when she was 29 and then began teaching a few years later! Originally, she was drawn to yoga because holding Chair Pose or balancing proved quite the challenge, but quickly realized yoga also brought her peace, clarity and better flexibility.

Kim has been teaching yoga for 11 years and working in public health for almost 5 years now! Her love for travel, taking different yoga classes and courses around the globe have shaped the teacher she has become. Many of her students say Kim is their favorite teacher and she has a loyal group of ladies she teaches to weekly. Yoga is great because it’s accessible to everyone – she has taught to athletes, children and even silver sneaker groups! She likes to bring fun to simple poses, keep her voice engaging and use music to reduce stress and boost the mood. Many people who meet Kim say she looks familiar and that they feel like they already know her. She enjoys meeting new clients and her goals for each class are to teach them something new, challenge them and encourage a moment of peace--all through just an hour of yoga!

Kim is very interested in the fitness/sport industry because she knows how important it is for health, mood and long term overall health. Kim loves teaching vinyasa yoga, basic yoga, meditation and bootcamp type classes!!! Kim's fitness goals currently are to workout 2 mornings a week before work (weights), 3 yoga classes a week, walk/run 3 miles a day, sit in the sauna twice a week, rebound twice a week for 10 minutes and to make sure that she ENJOYS her workouts!! Having dealt with her own injuries and pain from scoliosis, she is very knowledgeable about the positive effects yoga and fitness can have, despite age or experience.

Kim lives with her husband-to-be and is a step-mama to a 9-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy, who are the light of her life as you can imagine! She has two nephews and a niece and is very close to her family.  Kim is resilient, dedicated and loving and hopes she can share that with the world! Find Kim on Instagram @KimPlough.
