I have been in the fitness industry since 1995 when I realized how fun it looked to help people get fit and healthier while I was working out at a YMCA watching a personal trainer working with a client. I was a HS health teacher at the time and decided to get certified and become a personal trainer in the evenings. I love helping inspire people to move their bodies and eat well because it is so rewarding to witness the transformation in their self-esteem, confidence, body image and quality of life. 

I started teaching group fitness 20 years ago and was hooked instantly. I love leading classes and coming up with creative moves to challenge muscles in different ways every week. I always do the workout while teaching as I believe it is essential to be able to gauge the level of difficulty and stamina for each move that I am asking others to do. I have enjoyed teaching HIIT classes, bootcamp, spin class and barre. I like to follow a pattern of getting heart rates up with HIIT moves and then weaving strength training moves into a flow alternating with HIIT so participants are benefitting from an hour of maintaining a high enough heart rate to burn fat while also improving strength the entire hour. I always finish class with at least 10 mins of abdominal/core work and end with stretching. As a nutritionist, I also feel strongly about sending folks out with a nutrition goal to focus on each week that will help them attend to their internal body as well as external. 

My hope is to be able to keep working out every day of my life and reap the benefits of feeling strong, independent, healthy and happy with how my body functions. I love to travel and am incredibly excited to be able to combine these two passions and meet tons of fun, interesting, like minded people along the journey!
