I have a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education, a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, and finally a doctorates degree in Health Education. I started my career as a teacher where I taught high school health and physical education. After having three wonderful boys, I stayed at home for a while until I couldn’t stand not being around people over the age of 5... I got a job teaching fitness and swimming classes at Cool Springs Fitness. I spent 5 great years teaching adults all sorts of fitness classes and being a personal trainer. While working there and having 3 small children I acquired my doctorates degree. That my friends was tougher than giving birth to those boys. (3 reasons why I can’t jump on the trampoline or jump rope without peeing my pants…thanks boys). After working on my degree, I found a temporary teaching position at Slippery Rock University in the Physical Education department where I taught undergraduates Health and Physical Education. (DREAM JOB, and it was only temporary) I love to teach, and this was a great place to build lifelong relationships with students who were going to be teachers themselves one day. I am currently back working at Cool Springs Fitness, as their manager. I also teach many classes, such as water aerobics, spinning, pilates, and functional fitness.
