Hello and thank you for this opportunity. I am currently a DC Police Officer, Veteran and Small Business owner and I will retire in August 2022 from Law Enforcement. Societies current attitude about law enforcement has made me re-evaluate how to help human beings in this world. I have taken Water Aerobic classes for over 20 years in the District of Columbia (DC), Maryland and Virginia (DMV). Water Aerobics has kept my mental and physical being healthy. I have met the most motivating individuals and sadly some lazy instructors (it is my belief I can be different). I believe, if you do something you love, it's not work. I would like to teach in low income areas and cruise ships for balance and humility since this is the third chapter of my life. During COVID, I had to make some difficult decisions about my future and my mental well being. So here I am, a 58 years of old, wanting to teach Water Aerobics (low impact) because if it wasn't for Water Aerobics, I would probably retire on disability (mentally and physically). I'm a walking example of natural aging physical issues that can be maintained with proper low impact exercises. No surgeries, as of this date! I have three (3) degrees, and AA in Law Enforcement, a BA in Criminal Justice and a MA in the Administration of Management. I believe there is always room for improvement. My local recreation pool taught me how to swim laps during COVID. My current Water Aerobics instructor suggested I apply for this membership.
Update (August 2022), I currently have two (2) certifications (ASFA and ITFA-Fitness) for Water Aerobics Instruction. I taught pro bono this past summer and had the best time ever. The clients were especially patient with me and gave the best support.
