Teresa L. Penbrooke, PhD, CPRE, RYT-200, has been teaching and leading fitness, wellbeing, nutrition, outdoor adventure, and other related science and spirituality-based courses/personal training since 1995. She has a B.S. in Kinesiology, a Masters in Organizational Management, and a PhD in Social Science. She educates, researches, mentors, and consults with a focus on recreation, wellbeing, physical movement, sports, tourism, nutrition, preventive health, environment, and the integration of nature. Dr. Penbrooke leads and trains with a variety of course structures. Individual personal training can help people identify their own best personal path, including plans for daily re-creation of body, mind, and spirit. Group classes usually include strength, balance and flexibility, often with vinyansa and/or hatha yoga, and perhaps a mix of Tai Chi, Pilates, water movements, and other Eastern and Western styles, depending on group level and location. Dr. Penbrooke can work with those both highly fit or those who are coming in recovering from illness or a sedentary background, specializing in helping those less active find their path to better health. Psychological and physical safety and comfort levels are always considered, and participants leave feeling heard, refreshed, and having met their goals.
