- Stacy Smith
Stacy has been involved in fitness all her life; competitive cheerleader, competitive swimmer, life guard, professional dancer and a fitness instructor. She owned and operated 4 dance studios, with over 650 students, for eleven years in New Hampshire. She taught ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern dance and gymnastics. Along with the studio, she choreographed/performed in many theater productions, fashion shows and pageants, such as the Miss and Mrs. N. H. /America pageants. She was second runner up and talent winner in the Miss New Hampshire pageant and she is a former Mrs. New Hampshire/America.
Winning several awards for her choreography, she has choreographed, judged and emceed many fitness, dance, and cheerleading competitions, including the New England Patriot’s cheerleaders. She has also danced and choreographed for Magic Music Days in Walt Disney World and two of the Sesame Street Live Performances, with Bob McGrath. She has former students in the New York School of the Performing Arts, Washington Modern Dance Company, San Diego Dance School of the performing Arts, The Carolina Ballet and The Boston Ballet Company.
Her fitness career began part time in 1983 with her first certification as a personal trainer. She caught the fitness bug and has worked part time teaching fitness ever since. She’s taught in NH at Gold’s Gym, where she was the assistant manager, in Massachusetts at World’s Gym, in Florida at 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness and Ultima Fitness, and in North Carolina at KX Fitness, where she was the group exercise manager, Impact Athletics, for the Town of Cary and currently at Lifetime Fitness and Peak Fitness. She currently teaches total conditioning, cycle, aqua, Pilates mat and reformer, Yoga, Cardio Resistance training (which has step and weights), kickboxing and strength training.
Out side of fitness, Stacy is an accomplished artist. She does commissioned pieces as well as murals and faux painting and teaches cartooning classes for the Town of Cary. Stacy is also a writer and wrote for three years as a journalist and had a monthly column.
Stacy has always been very involved with her children’s education. Her volunteer career consists of being room parent, PTA secretary, Cultural Arts Chairman and the Meet the Masters (an art history volunteer program) coordinator. Stacy has developed such programs as an author’s visit, a parent improvement team, an art museum, a student author night, a fitness night, a student publication center and a Spanish program.
She currently lives in Apex, North Carolina with her husband, Jeff and their two daughters Alexandra and Savannah.
