Kirstin Williams

Kirstin E. Williams received her BA in Dance/Physical Education from San Diego State and MFA in Dance Choreography & Performance from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Since 2000 Kirstin has been teaching at City College of San Francisco. Kirstin is the artistic director of two dance companies: Strong Current & Strong Pulse which she directs, produces, & choreographs contemporary, hip hop, jazz & athletic movement with a social activist edge performing in NYC, San Diego, Santa Cruz, San Francisco & Bay Area. She has applied her knowledge of movement, teaching skills, and love of people to many different styles of classes: hip hop, contemporary, jazz, tap, modern, ballet, dance conditioning, zumba, pilates and more. She acquired her training in pilates with Elizabeth Larkam through Balance Body and was a part of the Pilates Allegro Performance Team at SF Bay Club. She attains the following certifications: pilates allegro, pilates roller & ring, pilates mat, vertical pilates, resist-a-ball, power yoga, yoga flow, hatha flow, anti-gravity yoga, restorative aerial yoga, restorative yoga, stretch, meditation, cardio dance, cardio kickboxing, body sculpt, Ultimate Conditioning, pound, Kango, Zumba, swim, aqua fit and more. Kirstin has been teaching at University of San Francisco, Crunch Fitness, Bay Clubs plus has her own private practice for over 18 years. She is a regular guest instructor at Rancho La Puerta in Mexico since 2017 teaching mermaid classes, aqua fit, pilates mat and reformer, yoga, aerial yoga, stretch, jazz dance, ballet dance and more. During the pandemic Kirstin created BEACH BUFF YOGA utilizing the beautiful beach in SF to be in person working on stability, clearing the mind, deep stretching, deep strengthening with small hand weights & incline empowerment. Cardio vascular exercise, dance, Pilates, light-weight training and yoga are integral parts in Kirstin’s life, which enables her to have a positive outlook on life. She believes maintaining strength, balance, and center awareness is the foundation of all fitness and enhances your daily activities while having a good mental & physical health. With positive energy Kirstin will guide you with breath, movement, flexibility, exploration & fun as you believe in you. Kirstin teaches all levels and enjoys the challenge of designing a class for your specific needs to enhance your body, mind & spirit.
