Rachael is a Certified Personal Trainer and a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) possessing master’s degrees in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from the University of Michigan. She creates and teaches fitness classes privately and professionally (since 2011) including dance fitness, Zumba Fitness (certified March 2018), strength training, and other custom programs. Rachael is passionate about helping people reach personal goals and experience “break-through” moments after hitting a plateau. She uses a broad range of research-based strategies and techniques to help her clients including corrective and rehabilitative exercises, hands-on stretching, muscle testing, and self-alignment work with muscle activation exercises to name a few.
Rachael’s Registered Dietitian experience encompasses a wide range of the fitness/wellness venues including hospital and health care, fitness clubs, company fitness initiatives, and personal consultations. She assumes a "food first" (dietary) approach and counsels clients based on their goals and needs. Rachael proactively pursues up-to-date professional development in dietetic trends and counseling techniques (e.g. motivational interviewing, self-management, cognitive behavior therapy, and mindfulness) with a view of empowering her clients to achieve their goals and best health. Rachael develops nutrition programs based on client input and ownership so clients provide the driving force behind goal formulation and execution of action points. When working with Rachael, you can expect her to inquire about your perspective, evaluate your needs, and then skillfully create recommendations, suggestions, and action items to add to your routine and lifestyle.
