My love for mind-body lifestyle and fitness began 30 years ago as I exited my first Pilates reformer class with my whole body feeling spent and alive. It was not just the great workouts, but it was experiencing classes infused with humor, wrapped in camaraderie, and full of encouragement for growth in mind, body and spirt that kept me coming back. I hope that others will find this same experience in every class I teach. For the past 26 years, Yoga, mat and reformer Pilates, tai-chi, Qi Gong, various dance formats, weight training and a splash of pole fitness have served as my personal foundation for fitness. Since 2003 I have enjoyed teaching these formats at various venues as a certified yoga and group fitness instructor.
Today, in 2024, I offer private Pilates reformer sessions and teach a lot of yoga! I instruct classes at yoga studios, local recreation centers, outdoor city squares and parks, private businesses and non-profits, retreats, and even on standup paddleboard in the pool or open water. It is my desire to make yoga accessible and enjoyable for every body. I teach a wide range of yoga: chair classes for seniors, energetic Vinyasa flows for the athlete, playful classes for children, couples yoga, SUP yoga on the water, Yin/Restorative classes with props, and Hatha classes that help unite the inward and outward practice. Every class is designed for the beginner or experienced practitioners alike. It is a privilege to create an environment where the client can strengthen the body, relax more deeply, still their mind, and find renewed wholeness. Whether I am teaching a Vinyasa/ Hatha/ or Restorative class, three foundational elements are offered in every class- 1. breath work, 2. mindful body movement and postures and 3. centering/meditation with a time of relaxation to seal in the practice. Props may be offered when appropriate and available to facilitate a fully enjoyable practice. From the morning practice to the late evening wind-down yoga set, it is my joy to share yoga instruction. If I am in my hometown of Dallas, Texas or visiting abroad, you will find me sharing this journey of mind/body lifestyle with others.
