My yoga journey started while I was working as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. As I realized how much I loved helping people, I quickly learned the draining effects of helping others during some of the hardest days of their lives. Yoga quickly became my favorite way to manage stress as well as a great way to stay physically active. I continued my education and became a Nurse Practitioner and also found that yoga was more than just a hobby for me. It was a passion. I knew then that I was destined to find a way to find balance in my life as both a Nurse Practitioner and a Yoga Teacher.
It was in Lawrence, KS that I really found my yoga community and enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training. While I was pregnant with my second child, Sullivan, I also enrolled in Pre/Postnatal and Kids Yoga Teacher Training at Home Holistic in Kansas City.
Community plays a huge role in most of my classes. I have made lifelong friendships with many of the women in this yoga community and I hope to help others find this as well. For this reason, community and socialization has always played a huge role in my yoga classes.
I hope to strengthen the sense of community for the people in Lawrence and surrounding communities by bringing people together with yoga.
I enjoy the challenge of keeping my life balanced between being a mom, a partner, a friend, a Nurse Practitioner, a yoga instructor, and finding time for myself. Every day brings forth new, unexpected challenges and joys and I can’t wait to see where this road takes me.
