Tamara works full-time as a Complementary Integrative Health registered nurse for United States Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Mrs. Bernazky-Alm educates and provides various holistic treatments to veterans in acute care, addiction recovery, hospice and short- & long-term care. She is passionate about teaching her patients how to incorporate stress management, meditation, guided imagery, yoga philosophy, mindfulness, breath work, restorative yoga postures, subtle energy/Reiki/Healing Touch and wellness into their healing and life transitions.

Tamara's fulltime schedule at the Veteran's Administration does not slow her teachings outside of the workplace. Although she has taken a temporary pause teaching groups weekly at the yoga studio, she continues to teach yoga philosophy, hatha yoga, yoga nidra and meditation to 3 private clients weekly. Private teachings are a newer practice to Tamara, as she's taught in various studios and medical facilities for over a decade. The intimate setting of private 1:1 practice has provided Tamara with new insight and fresh perspectives for teaching larger groups. She is grateful for her private practice clients and the work at the Veteran's Administration as it allows her to obtain life/work balance, travel the world to teach yoga and maintain resilience to continue thriving in her giving profession.

In Tamara’s classes, her intention is to create an environment that aims to encourage your personal growth, support your love of yoga and offer an education on the philosophy of yoga. She underlines that, “It isn’t enough to intellectually understand yoga or to perfect asana, but to experience and connect, to yoke the mind-body closer to our knowing.” For more information, please view her business, "Alm Yoga", website at almyoga.net
