Lindsay McIntyre

My name is Lindsay and I am a 200YTT Registered Yoga Teacher. I completed my training in 2017 after practicing yoga since 2010 after my second sons birth. On the first day of my YYT in 2016, a distracted driver hit me in my car and my whole life changed. I was able to return to YTT in 2017 with support from the school and physicians overseeing my care. I began learning how to cue verbally as I was unable to lift my arms at this point. The training was huge in my healing and I'm proud to say I am fully recovered.

Learning yoga while living with chronic pain has been an asset to my teaching as I offer many different modifications to all poses, while encouraging participants to listen to their bodies. I tend to demonstrate the easiest variation to a pose, so that it gives participants permission to stay there without pressure to push themselves. I love teaching beginners and making sure participants learn safety in poses. I value inclusivity, so that any participant feels comfortable joining and leaves my class feeling good about themselves and more peaceful.

I recently travelled to Dreams Bahia Mita, where I met a lovely instructor named Diane who told me about this company. Looking forward into my husbands retirement year in the future, this sounds like dream!

I currently run a business called Fraser Valley Balance Bikes and support my two sons 12 & 14 at home who are busy with sports and eating anything I cook! My husband is a Captain with Surrey Fire Services in Surrey BC. I am a former Child and Youth Care Counsellor.
