My professional boxing career is what really developed my interest in fitness. I trained full time as a professional boxer for 10 years. (Thanks to God, the best trainer in the world, Barry Becker and discipline.) This included weights, swimming, yoga, bag work, sparring, shadow boxing, running, plyometrics, spinning, etc. I have learned so much about training for specific sports and how to improve speed, agility, strength, explosiveness, endurance, and power. These same techniques have proven useful with my personal training clientele. Also, in combination with my yoga and massage education, I can implement training programs to improve postural deviations such as hunchback and scoliosis. I work with professional athletes that want to improve their ability and focus on the playing field, but I also work with people who are recovering from ACL surgery and back surgery. My varied background with yoga, massage, and athletics has taught me a lot about the body and I love helping others get healthy...and stay healthy. I teach Boot Camp classes with combinations of boxing, weight training for sculpting and toning, and abdominal conditioning. People LOVE it! I also teach classes on visualization and meditation...mental techniques people can take into their lives to combat stress. I am not currently certified as a personal trainer, although I'm working on that. But since I've been mentored by one of the best coaches, I've been hired on at the community college to teach weight training and yoga. I love to share what I've learned with others.
