I have a dance background in ballet, contemporary, and hip hop.
After a concussion as a teenager, I lost my brain's ability to entirely control motor functions such as walking in a straight line. Once I had gained control of my mobility, I had also gained a bunch of weight. And when I say a bunch, I was 374 pounds in 2015. Looking to lose weight, I joined a gym and found that I needed to do aqua and gold classes to avoid injuries at my new size. This is why I didn't stop once I became Zumba certified and was determined to become Aqua and gold certified as well.
Now I hold 5 different Zumba licenses (including Kids and Kids Jr) and teach 8 classes a week at my YMCA. Anything is possible.
