Jenny is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher, breath coach, and yoga therapist candidate. She holds additional certifications in restorative yoga, yin yoga, yoga nidra, functional range conditioning, barre, HIIT and mat pilates.
Jenny teaches a variety of in-person and virtual yoga classes and works privately with groups and individuals. She has also hosted two specialized online workshops, “Handstand for Beginners” and “Fall Flight to Crow”. Concerned with the health and wellbeing of her mother, she began a virtual chair yoga class to help seniors and those with limitations and/or injuries stay active and connected. Most recently, Jenny led a virtual yoga fundraising class benefiting the Global Giving Ukraine Relief Fund, raising $3,110 in donations. She has taught at Fordham University since 2018 and has played an active role in developing their wellness curriculum for both the staff and student athletic programs.
Yoga was initially a form of therapy for Jenny. It provided her with a means to counteract the stresses exerted upon her body by her professional dance career, which included a prolonged tenure with Pilobolus Dance Theater. As she kept on with her practice, she discovered in yoga a source of calm that empowered her to manage the stress of modern life. Yoga also became for her an endless wellspring of inspiration and a map to countless paths to self-discovery.
Jenny completed her first yoga certification in 2011 and is an experienced yoga teacher registered with the Yoga Alliance. In 2020, Jenny completed her 500-hour yoga therapeutics certification and is completing an 850-hour Yoga Therapy certification with Prema Yoga Institute. Originally born in Mexico and raised in Houston, TX, she now resides in Harlem, New York with her husband and dog.
