I started practicing yoga almost 20 years ago when I stumbled into a yoga class in college. As I got older, I became closer to the practice and started reading and researching articles on the healing properties of yoga. I have always gravitated towards to the intense feeling of peace and calm that would wash over me as I practiced and was eager to share my knowledge and love with others. I went on to complete my 500-hour yoga teacher training (YTT) certification and began teaching about 5 years ago.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, I taught Saturday morning classes to over 50 students at the top power Vinyasa yoga studio in Atlanta, GA. I went on to own a yoga studio that specialized in being the most inclusive studio in the Metro Atlanta area by offering a variety of yoga classes, from power vinyasa to yoga Nidra. Owning a studio was my pride and joy, but the pandemic took a toll on successfully operating a studio, so decided it was best to not renew the brick and mortar lease and focus on continuing to teach my clients in small group settings and privates.
I currently teach small group lessons in the community, private lessons, and host a few classes per week for Lifetime Fitness. I also teach a weekly corporate yoga session open to global employees for the Fortune 500 company Oracle. To date, I am most proud that I have completed over 1100 hours of teaching, which has been verified through the Yoga Alliance.
Outside of teaching yoga, I am also a certified group fitness instructor and can teach various formats which include pilates, aerobics, weightlifting, and aqua aerobics.
