Ingrid Knight-Cohee has over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry and is a sought-after presenter and consultant. At the helm of Group Fitness for the largest provider of fitness in British Columbia, Canada since 2010, she is instrumental in creating innovative group exercise experiences to over 100,000 members. Ingrid leverages effective leadership, creativity and collaboration to build connected and committed teams. Most recently, Ingrid has been recognized as the 2024 IDEA Fitness Leader of the Year - the most prestigious award of the industry, highlighting innovation and achievement in fitness programming and leadership
Ingrid regularly contributes to the fitness industry at-large by way of advisory committees, presenting fitness workshops and writing articles for various publications, and volunteering to speak/coach at schools and for sports associations. She specializes in inspiring individuals, corporate groups and teams to optimal health and performance through research-based, cutting-edge programming. Ingrid has been a registered Trainer of Fitness Leaders with the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association since 1991 and was recognized as Personal Trainer of the Year in 2005 by that provincial governing body.
An ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 1996, Ingrid was named co-finalist for the 2007 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year Award and received recognition as co-finalist for the 2012 IDEA Program Director of the Year Award. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia in 1995 and her Master’s degree in Exercise & Health Psychology from Emporia State University in 2001. A firm believer in lifelong learning, Ingrid recently completed her ACE Health Coaching Certification as well. She is well-versed in delivering all popular class formats, from Yoga to Spinning, Cardio/Strength Conditioning, Mobility and Pilates or Dance inspired formats.
From her beginnings as a high-performance athlete representing the United States internationally as a member of the US Rhythmic Gymnastics National Team (’83-’91), Ingrid’s foundations are rooted in the ideals of integrity, team work, perseverance, and dedication. Ingrid is passionate about her personal health and well being and thrives on facilitating that same passion to others in order to lead their best lives.
